Webb type G: double circle – “It is the rarest of the recorded Foochow cancellations” according to Col. Webb. No example recorded on cover in the 1991 Scarcity Guide; 1 of 3 examples now known on card or cover. Proud type D8: 9.7.06 – 14.11.07, and 26.11.10. Struck on QV 1901 4c carmine postcard, Schoenfeld type 12, its latest known use.

Sent on 18.3.07 by Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation to Imperial Ottoman Bank in Constantinople, a rare destination from Hong Kong, let alone from one of the Treaty Ports.

Carried on the first voyage of the P&O Macedonia from Hong Kong, 23.3, to Colombo, 2.4. Backstamped “British Post Office / Constantinople,” c.d.s. of 20.4.07, and bearing three different bank receiver markings.
